Athearn

Athearn is an American manufacturer established in 1946 by Irvin Athearn.

Originally starting from his mother's house, Athearn quickly expanded and acquired the product line of Globe Models in 1951, resulting in an extensive array of American locomotive, passenger, and freight car models. Over the years, Athearn also produced many models for other companies such as Lionel Trains, Cox Models, and Atlas. In 2004 Athearn was purchased by Horizon Hobby, and although it has had to scale down since then, it still remains one of the leading American model train brands.
