How to use our website

Our website is not just a database of model trains, but can also be used to create and manage your own collections of trains.
With our uniquely developed system, you can add any train that's in our database to your collection and change its position in your collections by dragging and dropping it to wherever you desire. This way, you can create whatever combination of locomotives and/or cars you like: real-life trains, imaginary trains, impossible trains - here it's all possible. And you can create as many collections as you like, for example a collection of the trains you own, a collection of trains you wish to own or still want to purchase, you name it. And best of all, it's completely for free.

So how does it work?

Easy! Every train in our database has a large green "Add to collection" button as shown below, which will add it to your default collection.
If you have an account, you can also add a personal note to any train you add to your collection through the text field next to the large green button. This could for example be a reference number, a digital address, or any comment you wish to add.

By default, every train will be added at the end of your collection, but you can then move it around to whichever position you like by dragging and dropping. You can either move one item at a time by dragging its picture, or you can move entire rows up and down by clicking and dragging the grey bar.

You can modify your personal notes or remove any item with the two buttons below each item:

Soon it will also be possible to print your collections, or share them with others if you wish.

In case you need additional help, more explanations are provided underneath every collection. To prevent cluttering of our website, guest users can only create one collection with up to 30 trains, and collections will automatically be deleted after 7 days of inactivity. If you wish to create more collections that won't be deleted with an unlimited number of trains, an account on our website is required. Registering is and always will be completely free, we won't ask for any personal details except for a valid email address which is necessary to keep our website safe and prevent fake accounts.
