These Danish State Railways (DSB) Type My 1100 multi-purpose locomotives have diesel-electric drive. With this system, electric motors on the axles are provided with current from the generators which in turn are driven by diesel motors. This locomotive is very similar to the Belgian Type 204. The class My 1100 could be found at the head of international passenger trains as well as in pusher service on the large freight train ferries to Sweden.
